With Suicidal Tendencies, Hellfest brings the heavyweights of crossover and thrash metal to Clisson. What better way to get the Warzone crowd roaring!
Suicidal Tendencies were born in California, in Venice Beach to be precise. The band was formed in 1982 while singer Mike Muir was still a student. Although the band made a name for itself in the early days, unfortunately it wasn’t always for its music (rumours of gang affiliation, controversy surrounding its name…). Fortunately for the band, all this eventually worked in their favour, as their reputation grew.
In 1983, Suicidal Tendencies released their eponymous debut album. It was a huge hit with the public, and the track “Institutionalized” was broadcast on MTV. Suicidal Tendencies became one of the first hardcore bands to be broadcast on the American channel. A historic achievement! Over the years, Suicidal Tendencies have moved from a punk/hardcore style to more metal and thrash influences. On The Art Of Rebellion, they even allowed themselves a stint of progressive metal and funk.
