Balancing sophistication and irreverence, Huntrill is carving out a unique path in the French rap scene. Invited by ARTE Dans le Club, the aesthetic-minded rapper steps in to showcase his album Nouvelle Trap 2.

“My Instagram doesn’t reflect my real life — neither does my music,” reads Huntrill’s Instagram bio. The message is clear: the rapper from the 91 isn’t playing by the rules. He defies genre conventions by swimming against the mainstream trap current and returning to boom-bap. He rewrites history too, laying ultra-contemporary lyrics over ‘90s-style beats, all while using the French language to nod at major figures in Anglo-American hip-hop. And when it comes to propriety, Huntrill’s sharp, unapologetic pen spares no topic — his writing is as bold as it is refined.
