In 2013, his record Albala was marked by the war which tore Mali. Two years later, the Songhai guitarist returns with a more “joyful” record, but still as spiritual. He continues to sing the praises of diversity, the one that lights his soundtrack. If the Sahelian blues of the one that he formerly accompanied, Ali Farka Touré, is still an inexhaustible source, if the Songhai culture stays its base, Samba Touré is also inspired by Gainsbourg, Bo Diddley and even Tom Petty… And when the rhythms accelerate, his eclectic groove recall the sticky rhythms of New Orleans, in a trance at the limits of electronic abstractions.
