Louise Jallu: Tribute to Piazzolla

Director: Guillaume Déro
Genre: Live Show

Watch

Led by the young and intrepid bandoneonist Louise Jallu, a leading figure in contemporary tango, a fine Franco-Argentinian musical crew has embarked on an adventure to invoke the spirit and music of Astor Piazzola.

Considered the most important musician of the second half of the twentieth century for tango music, Astor Piazzolla is a composer who fascinates jazz circles as much as classical music circles and his popular dimension remains very strong. He was always a sort of outsider in his own artistic family but also in all the fields he approached.

It is between these two strongly marked aesthetics, jazz and tango, that Louise Jallu wished to propose on the occasion of the centenary of his birth another reading of his music: to keep the codes of the tango while offering spaces of play open to the improvisation, to play on the superposition of the movements, of the rhythm, on the expansion of the harmony and on the enrichment of the modes, to use new instrumental techniques in order to offer to the public a homage, certainly revisited, to this fabulous musician.
