Cities and music have always gone hand in hand, especially when it comes to jazz. “Going to Chicago” is a sound journey through the realm of “Great Black Music”, a concept born in Chicago under the now famous AACM — Association for the Advancement of Creative Musicians. For years, Kahil El’Zabar chaired the association while pursuing his career as a musician, composer and essayist. He incarnates the “black renaissance” which, founded on a solid cultural heritage, reaches beyond its African-American particularities to attain the universal. He is our guide over the course of this sound journey.
