Max Emanuel Cencic is not only one of the most successful countertenors of the moment, he is also a successful director, cultural manager and producer – and artistic director of the Bayreuth Baroque Opera Festival. The latter is celebrating its 40th anniversary.

He is one of a generation of countertenors who are passionately reviving the splendor and glamour of Baroque opera singing for high male voices: Max Emanuel Cencic. But he is not only one of the most prominent countertenors of the moment, he is also active and successful as a director, cultural manager and producer – and as the artistic director of the Bayreuth Baroque Opera Festival, which was awarded the Deutsche Schallplattenkritik Prize in 2021.
