A face-off between two contrasting visions of dance. On one side, the powerful wave of Oona Doherty—the Belfast prodigy known for her raw, urban, and energetic movement—and Lasseindra Ninja, the queer icon of Voguing in France, who, for the first time, create a piece with a group of dancers. On the other side, the precision and clarity of Lucinda Childs and Tânia Carvalho, who draw from ensemble imagery, sharing a sharp sense of line and rhythm. The New York choreographer revisits Tempo Vicino, a work originally created in 2009 for the Ballet National de Marseille, with this newly refreshed group of dancers.
