Blonde Redhead is back! Let’s celebrate the release of Sit Down for Dinner with the Italian-Japanese trio at La Route du Rock.

An indie trio from New York, Blonde Redhead’s feverish pop-rock is sonically experimental. Their musical strangeness is based on the alchemy of guitarist and singer Amedeo Pace, his twin brother drummer Simone and Japanese vocalist Kazu Makino.

After a noise-influenced musical debut, the band broke away from its initial noisy approach and opened up to shoegaze and dream pop over the course of several albums. In 2000, Melody of Certain Damaged Lemons was the experimental ground for dreamy, ethereal, flickering melodies, in which Kazu Makino’s sweetly acid voice gravitates. Four years after the release of Penny Sparkle (2010), the Italian-Japanese trio’s style has mellowed and branched out into more ethereal sounds, with Barràgan (2014) falling somewhere between autumnal melancholy and static coldness.

In 2023, Blonde Redhead released its tenth album, Sit Down for Dinner. With these eleven tracks recorded between 2019 and 2020, brothers Pace and Kazu Makino put an end to almost nine years of silence.
