Arab Strap’s beginnings were rather confidential, their first home-made recordings shared between friends. But after the unexpected success of the inimitable single The First Big Weekend, the Falkirk duo of Aidan Moffat and Malcolm Middleton soon found themselves, along with their friends Mogwai, among Scotland’s most exciting and beloved musical acts.

With their latest album, As Days Get Dark, the band have taken their sonic foundations and extended them to new horizons. It’s a deft blend of post-rock, subtle electronic music, resonant strings and Aidan Moffat’s unmistakable half-sung, half-spoken voice.
