To celebrate the 150th anniversary of Carmen and the death of its composer Georges Bizet, the Opéra Royal of Versailles presents an authentic re-creation of the original production, complete with period costumes designed by Christian Lacroix and sets based on documents recovered from the French National Library. Hervé Niquet conducts the Orchestre de l’Opéra Royal on period instruments, offering an experience as close as possible to its premiere. The extraordinary cast includes Adèle Charvet and Éléonore Pancrazi as Carmen, alongside Julien Behr and Kévin Amiel as Don José.
