New swing, more than a name, a symbol of the revival of acoustic jazz, whose elegant alto saxophonist paved the way. Trained by Alvin Batiste or Kidd Jordan, discovered at Art Blakey, he was part, with Terence Blanchard and the Marsalis, young lions of jazz of the 80s. Donald Harrison then took the tangent, and his second breath, expanding his horizon alongside Eddie Palmieri, Dr. John, Jazzmatazz… Before returning to his hometown, both to revive his Black Indian parentage (see concert of 10th April) and for the tomorrows that swing otherwise, with hyper talented jazzmen of hardly twenty years of age.
