Texas returns to their roots to reinterpret their classics, this time with a minimalist and intimate accompaniment. Sharleen Spiteri and Johnny McElhone traveled to Alabama, to Fame Recording Studio in Muscle Shoals, a place full of history where northern soul pianist Spooner Oldham accompanies them in a session recorded in piano and voice, tinged with soul and gospel.
This project, entitled Muscle Shoals, offers an authentic and unadorned revisitation of the group’s emblematic pieces. Each song is stripped down, letting Sharleen Spiteri’s voice shine, and explores a new emotional facet of these now timeless titles.
For the first time, these reinterpretations will be performed in the chapel of the Village de Reille in Paris, a sacred place that will enhance this unique musical experience.
