Around Stochelo, a vision of gypsy jazz guitar has flourished: precise, poetic, and free from the kind of flashy tricks that too often numb critical sense. At Marciac, that name has already set off sparks with subtlety, spreading a powerful scent of swing.
Alongside the original Rosenberg Trio, Stochelo has created a second formation, the Stochelo & Mozes Rosenberg Trio, with Matheus Nicolaiewsky on double bass. In 2025, the Rosenberg brothers, in collaboration with the Chaplin family, will release a new album featuring Charlie Chaplin’s most beautiful melodies. Beyond being a legendary actor, director, screenwriter, and producer, Chaplin was also a gifted composer who wrote not only numerous film scores but also many remarkable songs.
The Rosenbergs recently contributed to the moving documentary The Spirit of the Tramp, which reveals the true origins of Chaplin’s gypsy heritage, and how a lineage once kept in the shadows went on to inspire artists across the globe.
