Rachid Taha burst onto the French rock scene in the 1980s, and has embodied a music that
is mixed and euphoric. Asserting his identity as a child of immigration with punk energy, he
has remained a rebel against all forms of determinism, thwarting assignations.
Having to cope with anti-Arab sentiment and confusion his whole life, he consterned French
political circles by protesting racism & the nation’s treatment of its immigrant underclass.
