Lala &Ce is the fourth female artist to join the Club, and we’re delighted to welcome her! A protégé of Jorrdee and member of the 667 collective, the female rapper regularly escapes from her London home to remind her male compatriots that they don’t have a monopoly on punchlines.

In terms of music, Lala &Ce is a trap rapper with American and African influences. It’s a style she serves up over soaring, organic layers, giving her prods a very carnal feel. Lala &Ce’s feverish, intimate rap is enhanced by her clear queer identity. Last June, Lala &Ce released her first mixtape, Le Son d’Après.

In all, twelve tracks born of a long process of maturation: unlike many of her counterparts, Lala is a rapper who likes to take her time. The first single from the album? “Serena”, a tribute to American tennis player Serena Williams. As we said earlier: Lala &Ce lives in London. For the Lyon-born rapper, expatriation rhymes with concentration. Far from family and friends, the artist remains focused on her creative work.
