Joce Mienniel and the Jazz à Porquerolles festival-goers got together at the crack of dawn for a unique session. Excerpt.
Joce Mienniel puts the flute through its paces. He is a performer, arranger, composer, artistic director and singer all rolled into one. Joce Mienniel wears a multitude of hats across a wide range of genres: classical, jazz, pop, improvised music, rock, world music, compositions for film and television… There’s no stopping this former member of the Orchestre National de Jazz, a graduate of the Conservatoire Supérieur de Musique de Paris, who even allows himself a few infidelities with the flute.
Joce Mienniel kicks off his concert for Jazz à Porquerolles at 5.30 in the morning, in a venue that has long been kept secret. An exceptional concert in which the artist and festival-goers together welcome the rising sun. It’s a wonderful introduction to the boundless world of this brilliant all-rounder.
