American trumpeter Jim Rotondi plays in the great jazz tradition.
He has recorded some fifteen albums under his own name, notably on the precious Criss Cross label, and he appears on several dozen others alongside Eric Alexander, Irene Reid, Toshiko Akiyoshi, George Coleman, Kyle Eastwood, Bob Mintzer, Bill Mobley… He comes here at the head of a luxurious quintet, an exceptional rhythm section with the wonderful pianist Danny Grissett, the double bassist Darryl Hall, the drummer Jason Brown and also a young and brilliant French saxophonist and arranger, Jon Boutellier, who lives partly in New York.
