Bending New Corners, the album that launched Erik Truffaz, is 20 years old. The trumpet player is back at the Montreal International Jazz Festival for a free concert dedicated to this drum’n’bass inspired record. 

Two decades later, everything has changed. Truffaz is a name that resonates and it is on the main outdoor stage that he comes to revive our memories. His album Bending New Corners remains emblematic of the turn of the millennium, a symbol of a time when jazz was exploring the possibilities of house, hip-hop, breakbeat, drum’n’bass and other electronic music.
