Caroline is a quartet that has been in practice since 2001, all terrain: the guitarist Gilles Coronado, drummer Franck Vaillant and saxophonist Olivier Py fuel the energy of improvised music, between post-rock and avant-jazz, without prohibition but with the right amount of humor between the lines. At the controls of these cross explorations, Sarah Murcia, great double bassist devotee of the clear line and open to all experiences – from Higelin to Elysian Fields, passing through Magic Malik or Beau Catcheur (see concert of 10th April) – sets the pace, the direction, inclines to deviations… For this concert, they boarded a special passenger: the saxophonist Guillaume Orti, whose demanding musicianship is matched only by his intriguing sound, around a repertoire specially composed by the double bass player.
