They have known each other for fifteen years, Bachar Mar-Khalifé was a percussionist and crossed paths with Bojan Z during studio sessions that gave birth to his first album in 2010 “Oil Slick”. Thereafter, they take different artistic paths, the Lebanese pianist, Bachar Mar-Khalifé, mixes his electro-acoustic signature with oriental melodies while the Serbian pianist, Bojan Z, draws from his native influences. This edition of the Jazz à la Villette festival marks their reunion for an original creation based on their respective compositions and the challenge of dusting off traditional repertoires from the Balkans and the Middle East!
