What a lineup and what a program! None other than two of France’s most renowned instrumentalists, Renaud and Gautier Capuçon, and the “tsarina” of the keyboard, Martha Argerich, performing one of the most iconic pieces in Beethoven’s concert repertoire. The Triple Concerto is indeed a unique piece in the history of Western music, characterized by its form and the subtlety of the balanced dialogue between the three solo instruments and the orchestra. In the second half, Renaud Capuçon will swap his bow for a baton to conduct Dvořák’s Eighth Symphony. Of all his compositions, this is undoubtedly the one most closely tied to the land of his birth, the heart of Europe, the Czech Republic.
