**An exceptional performance in the Cour d’Honneur of the Palais des Papes in Avignon, choregraphed by Carolyn Carlson and created around the works of sculptor Jean-Michel Othoniel “The Ghost of Love”.**
A world premiere, to celebrate the 25th anniversary of Avignon’s designation as European Capital of Culture and the 30th anniversary of its inscription as a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Performed by Hugo Marchand & dancer Caroline Osmont of the Paris Opera Ballet, accompanied by Juha Marsalo of the Carolyn Carlson Company, on music by René Aubry and Philip Glass.
The monumental installation of Othoniel was specially conceived for the extraordinary space of the Cour d’Honneur, to reveal its unique character. More than 10,000 glass bricks transform the architecture of the Cour, creating a landscape that accommodates three immense sculptures of mirrored stainless steel bricks with ghostly forms.
