The National Center for Contemporary Dance in Angers (CNDC) is an emblematic institution for artistic creation in France. It is also the first higher education school entirely dedicated to contemporary dance. In 2018, the CNDC celebrated its 40th anniversary. Behind its recognition for artistic excellence, it remains a hub of creation and experimentation. By revisiting its origins while following student-artists in their daily lives as young dancers—sharing their successes, doubts, and hopes—the documentary explores how each individual’s personality enriches the group. In turn, the group helps each dancer shape their identity, growing as both a young artist and a young adult. Nous la danse paints a sensitive portrait of a place that embodies the essence of transmission.
