Carried by the flamboyant Lady, You Shot Me, his second album Bye Bye Bye 17 was released on Cult Records, Strokes singer Julian Casablancas’ label. Here, dark music, with a predilection for the 1980s is manipulated to the point where love and humour rhyme, as if Lionel Richie dreamt of being Barry White: with or without a moustache.
