Macha Gharibian is a protean artist. Pianist, singer, author, composer and arranger, she distinguishes herself by a voice that is as soft as it is inhabited, as solar as it is volcanic. Sung sometimes in French, sometimes in English and sometimes in Armenian, her music oscillates between jazz influences and traditional Armenian sounds. Macha Gharibian plays here for us her latest album, Joy Ascension. Accompanied by the Canadian bassist Chris Jennings, she builds an intimate sound universe in which she delivers all her feelings without filter.
