From childhood, Queralt Lahoz cultivated a deep love for flamenco, bolero and Latin American music with the women in her family: at home, she listened to La Lupe and Chavela Vargas. Then, like many teenagers of her generation, the Barcelona native got a big kick out of Missy Elliot and Queen Latifah. As an adult, Queralt Lahoz telescopes all these influences to produce devilishly effective music, as evidenced by Pureza, a debut album released in 2021.
