The Geneva International Music Competition, founded in 1939 under the name _Concours International d’Exécution Musicale_ (CIEM), is one of the oldest and most prestigious competitions in the world of classical music. Its mission is to discover, promote and support young talents in disciplines that change each year: in 2025, the viola takes centre stage. The opening concert therefore features the illustrious Tabea Zimmermann, performing works by Schumann, Brahms, Yedid and Joachim. The Novo Quartet, winner of the 2024 edition, also returns to perform two works by Haydn and Smetana.
