Eight albums in, and we can’t get enough of them. Poesie Zero’s grotesque punk is back with a bang, shaking up Hellfest with anthems to the glory of Nadine Morano.

“The great enemy of art is good taste”. Marcel Duchamp said it, but it fits perfectly with the work of the restless Poésie Zéro. For the Nantes-based band, now based in Paris, are far from having the best lyrics, or even the best musicians. But if there’s one discipline in which they claim to be the best, it’s nullity. And it’s hard to argue with them, as they’ve sublimated the art of sucking over the years.

It all began in 2010 with a punk ode to Nadine Morano, which we hope will have caught the second degree of the work. Then followed eight albums, six of which share the same title. The last two in the series: LALBUMBLEU and ALBUMBLEU (yes, you read that right) were released in 2023. The recipe remains unchanged, but the simple, devastating slogans carried by the equally simple, devastating guitars still hit the mark.
