Californians Meatbodies are back at La Route du Rock! Here, they unleash all the nuances of their Flora Ocean Tiger Bloom album, released in 2024.

Meatbodies is the project of Chad Ubovich, who came to prominence as a guitarist with Mikal Cronin and as a bassist with Fuzz (one of Ty Segall’s psychedelic creations).

A self-titled debut album released in 2014 unveils an unparalleled sonic universe, where psychedelic nuances upend the harshness of garage punk bordering on stoner. This radiant opus immediately reveals grace and nonchalance, without being stingy with abrasive riffs. A gentle frenzy of unfailing energy.

Since this fine start, Meatbodies has released three albums: Alice (2017), 333 (2021) and Flora Ocean Tiger Bloom (2024). This discography has seen the band’s style evolve, becoming more sober and reflective. Flora Ocean Tiger Bloom sets subtle, profound themes (love, loss…) to music in a wide variety of styles (shoegaze, grunge, fuzz, pop, heavy…).
