If the small island of Cape Verde is world-famous, it’s also thanks to the music of Cesária Évora. So what could be more natural than to invite her compatriot Mayra Andrade, the new muse of morna and modern bossa nova, to take to the stage? A figurehead of the “Pantera generation”, Mayra Andrade pays tribute to the diversity of the archipelago’s islands in her songs, notably by singing in Creole.
It’s no understatement to say that her music is transporting. Indeed, composer and DJ Fakear establishes a strong link between his productions and nature. Working with multiple samples (pre-recorded sound samples), each of Fakear’s creations appears to the public as unique!
