It’s impossible not to fall under Loverman’s spell. Here’s proof with a short extract from the Belgian’s performance at the Eurosonic festival.
After the rappers, Belgium is planning to invade the European airwaves with crooners. There’s a little Warhaus in Loverman, James de Graef’s solo project. The musician’s deep voice is equally at home on swaying rhythms and folksy inspirations, making our hearts skip a beat.
It was in a church that Loverman and the ESNS festival-goers chose to meet up. It’s a fitting setting for this musician’s repertoire, inspired as much by Leonard Cohen as by Nick Cave. There, he gave a divine rendition of the song ‘Differences Aside’.
