At Hellfest, Les Garçons Bouchers are cutting straight to the bone to pay tribute to François Hadji-Lazaro, a legend of French alternative rock who left us far too soon.
Alongside bands like Bérurier Noir, Les Wampas, and Ludwig von 88, Les Garçons Bouchers are one of those provocative groups who, since the mid-80s, have loudly called out the flaws of French society while toasting a booze-soaked version of brotherhood. Musically, they embrace total contrast, a joyful chaos of punk, ska, French musette, and sharp lyrics that are sometimes crude, always committed.
Put on hold in 1997, the Garçons Bouchers adventure resumed in 2023. A comeback we’d all cheer for, if only it weren’t sparked by the passing of François Hadji-Lazaro in February 2023. But rather than mourn in silence, his former bandmates have chosen to celebrate his memory with a tribute tour titled _Tchao François_.
And where will this tribute stop in June 2025? You guessed it: the Warzone stage at Hellfest! So we’ll see you in the pit, to honour the great François the only way he’d want it: loud and proud.
