Hania Rani is a pianist and composer who divides her life between Berlin and Warsaw. She grew up in Poland with her parents, surrounded by music and films. Initially inspired by classical music, she gradually discovered jazz and electronic music, mixing her sources of inspiration: Nils Frahm, Murcof, Portico Quartet, Radiohead and even The Beatles. She writes and collaborates with Christian Löffler, Dobrawa Czocher, Hior Chronik and in 2018 released an album with her Polish band tęskno. His compositions for piano were born out of a fascination with the instrument and a desire to exploit its sonic possibilities, in his own way. Recorded in his apartment in Warsaw, the melodies are sensual, free and hypnotic. An album that says a lot about his musical roots.
