Gretchen Parlato’s second breakthrough, In a Dream (2009), signals the arrival of an incredibly innovative jazz singer.
 Her next album, The Lost and Found, demonstrates that she has remained in a position of strength. In a Dream received international recognition and was hailed by Billboard magazine as the most compelling vocal jazz album of 2009. In addition, it managed to rank highly in the year-end polls of Jazz Times, the Boston Globe, the Village Voice and NPR. 
 The Lost and Found shows an immediate importance and intensity, exposing itself to a more dynamic range. “I feel like I’ve gotten out of my own way, revealing more and being more vulnerable through the music,” Parlato reveals.
