FKJ is the abbreviation of French Kiwi Juice, a formula found by Vincent Fenton that became his stage name and the title of his first album, released in 2017 on the Roche Musique label. Born a little over thirty years ago to a New Zealander father (hence the word kiwi) and a French mother, this multi-instrumentalist artist (who easily switches from guitar to drums, from synth to bass or sax, while handling software) grew up in Tours, picking from his parents’ records from an early age. Between funk, groove, electro and jazz, he was noticed from his first singles, in particular Shadow, an improvisation with Masego. You just have to watch the video, captured on the spot, to understand how FKJ’s twirling mind works and how he behaves on stage, jumping from one instrument to another, superimposing sounds in total freedom.
