The voice is a beautiful obsession for Eric Legnini. The voice of his piano, of course, but also those of the accomplices he takes with him on his jazz peregrinations; but not only. From the most virtuoso hard bop to the most bubbling funk, his music in perpetual movement generates a strong swing, an obsessive groove and a formidable technique. By inviting to this concert the British Hugh Coltman and the Malian Mamani Keita, both guests on his latest album Sing Twice, but also the tandem Yael Naim and David Donatien, the Belgian pianist weaves solid links between continents (Europe, America, Africa) and genres (jazz, pop, world, funk, soul, Afrobeat). A way for this student of Richie Beirach, disciple of Herbie Hancock and Phineas Newborn, to take his improvisations on all possible grounds.
