A magical duo: Chico Freeman, the Chicago-based saxophonist, clarinettist and composer from Biel, shares the Swiss bass double – virtuoso Heiri Känzig’s passion for the centre of gravity of the jazz tradition, albeit under the assumption of its variability. And, for all their ability to create strong grooves, a preference for the melodic. Together, they released their album ‘The Arrival’ on Intakt Records in 2016.
