Büşra Kayıkçı was born and raised in Istanbul. From an early age, she developed a passion for a wide range of artistic expressions: piano, ballet, painting… Guided by this artistic sensibility, she became an interior architect and environmental designer… before her love of the piano caught up with her. Today, Büşra Kayıkçı navigates between these two worlds, each nourishing the other.
At the piano, Büşra Kayıkçı draws inspiration from figures such as John Cage and Nils Frahm. At the crossroads of minimalism and neoclassical music, she enriches her soundscape by incorporating electro-acoustic textures. The result is compositions of striking beauty.
Büşra Kayıkçı’s discography includes three albums: Eskizler (2019), Bluets (2022), and Places (2023). Also worth noting: her track ‘Qarib’ was included in the first Piano Day compilation, released in 2022 by Nils Frahm’s label Leiter Verlag. With this endorsement from Nils Frahm, which enabled the Turkish artist to launch her very first tour, it was only natural to invite Büşra Kayıkçı to OUR Piano Day.
