A 75-year group history that has taken them from the Institute for the Black Blind in the days of racial segregation to several concerts at the White House: The Blind Boys of Alabama is a gospel group like no other. Although only two of the group’s original members are still around today, they’re still going strong and have just released a new album, Almost home (2017). The title suggests that these gentlemen are closer to the end than the beginning – but that doesn’t stop them from bringing their life-affirming gospel sound to the people.
