In 2019, the artist and multi-instrumentalist with an atypical background has released a very personal 4th album, “1958”, sung in his native language, Bassa. Through this opus and this symbolic year, he summons an important figure, that of Um Nyobe, who was committed to the independence of Cameroon and was executed in 1958 by French soldiers. A vibrant, rich and sensory tribute, a mixture of musical influences from several horizons (indie folk and afro-blues) and steeped in traditional rhythms, confirming once again the talents of songwriter, composer and performer of Blick Bassy.
