Benjamin Epps is a very special artist in the French rap game. He’s gone against the grain, resurrecting the golden age of New York rap with a very American style of writing and pared-down instrumentals that draw on jazz and soul.

Originally from Gabon, Benjamin began rapping when he was just ten years old. He drew his inspiration from clashes with his school mates and the ‘old school’ rap his brothers listened to. Sailing between egotrip and melancholy, over the years the young MC has carved out a niche for himself with his killer punchlines and rich alliteration. Benjamin Epps also knows how to cultivate his differences, fully embracing his ‘old school’ influences and a voice that’s lighter than most rappers.

In 2020, Benjamin Epps released his first EP, Le Futur, and the video for ‘Kennedy en 2005’, to critical and peer acclaim. A few months later, the project Fantôme avec chauffeur was released, followed in 2022 by the album Vous êtes pas contents? Triplé!
