Andreas Tschopp also drew inspiration from the sound world of Indonesian gamelan music for his second album, ‘Tumbuk’. With his top-of-the-range pocket chamber orchestra, he immerses himself in a fascinating, multi-faceted world of sound: iridescent brass passages alternate with eruptions of expressive improvisation, virtuoso guitar meanders wind around twisted grooves, sometimes time almost stands still, sometimes everything happens extremely fast. An imaginary bridge between two worlds that transforms the stage into an imaginary village square.
