On June 23, 1959, Boris Vian passed away. On the occasion of this anniversary, the artist Médéric Collignon pays tribute to the writer who is part of his family. The poet and lyricist questioned the world, shook up the words and the music and spelled out the language with freshness!
Here is what Médéric Collignon says about this show:
“It was with great difficulty that I had to choose songs and poems by the “prince of Saint-Germain-Des-Prés”. I had to shake a part of the meandering work of 83 texts. With my double Yvan Robilliard, we try to manipulate the different facets of Vian’s parallel or inverted world: “Il oublia d’oublier d’oublier”, “L’anguille”, “L’évadé”, “J’suis snob”, “Quand j’aurai du vent dans mon crâne”… On stage, Yvan is the silent author with explosive harmonies and luminous flights of fancy, and I am the manipulator, the electrified trumpet player who sells wind in a jazz bath. We live in your free time. Hang your hearts on your seats, we’re going to square up!”
