Ziv Ravitz has made a name for himself as a dependable sideman, as a driving, yet sensitive drummer, and one who also now and then plays rhythmically as a lateral thinker. At 43, and with boundless musical experience, on his latest album «No Man is An Island» he presents his personal vision of today’s Jazz. For that, he has chosen a reduced trio, without piano or bass. Thus, all musicians are forced to leave their comfort zone in order to fill the gaps and holes, yet the opportunity remains for free, individual expansion in all directions.
