Harold López-Nussa is a virtuoso and erudite pianist who naturally combines a classical training that brought him into contact with composers such as Maurice Ravel and Heitor Villa-Lobos at an early age, with an atavistic fondness for Afro-Cuban popular music and a passion for jazz in all its forms. He invents a ‘fusion’ music that celebrates the constantly reinvented marriage between modern jazz and Latin traditions. At the head of a brand new quartet propelled by an abundant rhythm section and featuring the melodic genius of harmonica player Grégoire Maret, Harold López-Nussa showcases all the stylistic facets of his mixed universe. His new album, to be released in July 2023 to coincide with his concert at Jazz à Vienne, was produced by Michael League, multi-instrumentalist and founder of Snarky Puppy.
