With the group Thérapie Taxi set to break up in 2021, we’re taking you back to one of their legendary concerts at the 2019 Garorock festival!
In 2013, Adélaïde Chabannes de Balsac and Raphaël Faget-Zaoui met in the Pigalle district of Paris. During the meeting, the 17-year-old guitarist-cellist performed Jimmy by Moriarty. They decided to form a band and rehearsed on Sundays, first singing songs in English before choosing to sing in French, inspired by bands like La Femme and Fauve. The band’s first name was Milky Way, but it was renamed Thérapie Taxi in June 2016 with the arrival of two new members: Félix Gros on guitar and keyboards, and Renaud Bizart on drums. After a self-titled debut EP in 2017, the group went on to release three albums Hit Sale, Cadavre exquis and C’était Thérapie Taxi pour vous servir, blending different musical styles: rap, rock, pop and hip-hop, which is what makes the group so original.
