The Swedish guitarist ULF WAKENIUS fits in the firmament of today’s jazz guitarists. He has performed and / or recorded with the biggest Herbie Hancock, Pat Metheny, Michael Brecker, Jack DeJohnette, Jim Hall, Ray Brown, Michel Legrand … He was also the last guitarist of Oscar Peterson’s quartet that he accompanied during 10 years. Since 2008, he is the privileged partner of Youn Sun Nah, on recordings as in concert. Here we find him with his own “Vagabond” project that makes the public travel from the Nordic psalms to the Native American dances. With V. Peirani and S.Tailleu he forms a trio without borders for all lovers of an open, lively, modern and organic music, that regenerates and reinvents itself continuously.
