Maria João Pires, one of the most gifted pianists of her generation, plays Mozart’s Piano Concerto No. 9 “Young Man”. Composed for a French pianist, this work demonstrates Mozart’s mastery of the interplay between the instruments, his ability to highlight the soloist and his sense of effect. Maria João Pires is accompanied by the Monte-Carlo Philharmonic Orchestra conducted by Kazuki Yamada.
