Formed by two Polynesians from Tahiti (Tsi Min and Ennio), as well as three Parisians (Julia, Marvin and his brother Robin), the collective relies on himene tarava – a form of polyphonic singing from the Society Islands – which is telescoped by a cascade of computer-generated sounds or sounds taken from a traditional instrumentarium that is sometimes modified (flutes, percussion, steel drum). Ancestral and futuristic, the troubling and dreamlike harmonies of Fifteen’s music seem linked to a legend, an unknown mythology.
